D Magazine’s confidential poll is sent to over 2,000 local dentists, asking them to recommend their peers in each specialty. We make the ballot available online at DMagazine.com. Only dentists with a valid dental license can vote, and only those with a valid license are named winners. An esteemed panel of dentists, representing a range of specialties, reviews the final list. Once the list is finalized, we investigate disciplinary status and vet each winner’s dental license. We then turn the list over to our sales team. They cannot add to or subtract from the list, but they can sell ads to the winners. A special advertising section containing the winners who purchased ads is then put together and displayed somewhere else in the magazine. If you have a dentist you like and trust, and his or her name is not on this list, we recommend you stick with your D.D.S. You may see his or her name on the next list of Best Dentists in Dallas.
How does the nomination process work?
D Magazine invites thousands of local dentists in our online directory to nominate. They can select up to three of their peers in each specialty. Only dentists with a valid dental license are eligible to nominate and self-nominations are disregarded.
Once all nominations are in, an esteemed panel of dentists, representing a range of specialties, reviews the final list. Once the list is finalized by the panel, the editorial staff investigates disciplinary status and vets each winner’s dental license before featuring their name on the Best Dentists in Dallas list in our August 2018 issue.
When do nominations open?
Nominations will open Friday, February 8.
When will the winners be announced?
Winners will be contacted in April and featured in the August issue.
What if my name (or the name of the person I want to nominate) isn’t showing up in the form?
Our form auto-populates using our online directory. If a name does not show up, it is not yet in the directory. Please reach out to Caroline Carr at [email protected] for directory additions.
